Burton sails was established by Tauranga native, Sam Burton. Burton began his sail making apprenticeship in 2001 with Doyle Sails in Auckland. Through his extensive international work experience with other sail lofts, Burton has gained the knowledge and expertise to cater to all of your Sail Making needs.
With the introduction of Matt Hibbard to the team in 2017, Burton Sails has gained valuable experience. Matt started Sail Making in Wellington and has spent many years working with Volvo Ocean Race Teams and recently with Team New Zealand winning the America's Cup.
We would like to introduce our apprentice Tauranga local Tom Maidment to the team. Tom is a very passionate sailor and has high ambitions in the marine industry. Tom grew up sailing dinghies, multihulls and keel boats from a young age and has competed in national and international events.
